Sleepwalk with me

Aug 31, 2008 00:31

I just listened to ep. 361 of TAL and there's a story from comic Mike Birbiglia starting around the 8:40 mark that is utterly hilarious (the pacing's a bit slow, but worth it IMO). Download it now while it's still free...

FYI, it's always free if you know the trick. I have them all in MP3 format.

Send me a message on like Tuesday or so and I'll share-- it's on my PC at home, and I'm on the wrong coast to get to it.

I haven't looked at that page yet (it's in another window), but Mike has been doing guest shots on Opie and Anthony a fair bit lately, and man, his sleep problem is weird.

And apparently episode 362 is very funny also. The wife has been waiting a week for me to listen to it.

Good to know -- it's already on my Treo, so will be listening to it while VP-ing today.

I haven't checked out the link yet, but I have seen Birbiglia's standup in person. He builds the entire performance around his sleep walking story, and it is utterly hilarious.

I listened to the clip. It's pretty much exactly what I saw Birbiglia deliver, except that the live standup had a lot of his older material (from Two Drink Mike) interwoven with the sleepwalking stories. He's very good about seeming to ramble from one story to another while actually keeping a very tight form to his routine.
