MAYA THE RECEPTIONIST: So, EvtR, the heroes pulled off a narrow victory against Lord of the Flowsand last week, which puts them on a 3-battle winning streak! Not bad so far, eh?
EVVIE THE REF: Yeah, not bad at all. They had a few issues, but really did a good job to win last week's battle. If they just pack a little bit more offense, they could be off to a good dynamic.
MAYA: Yeah, and-
(A loud rumbling is heard upon the roof of #Roleplayx Arena. A tall, shadowy figure crashes through the roof, but lands gracefully on his feet.)
EvTR/MAYA: ...?!
???: HAHAHA. I've infiltrated the arena to best the ref and take what he has for my own!
EvTR: Uh...who are you..?
???: WHY I AM...
(??? steps out of the shadows to reveal his true identity; Lord Golbez, of Final Fantasy 4 fame.)
LORD GOLBEZ: AH YES >:O I SHALL HAVE THIS ARENA. AND MY FOUR FIENDS OF THE ELEMENTALS WILL SECURE IT FOR ME.
(GOLBEZ snaps his fingers. Scarmiglione, Cagnazzo, Barbariccia, and Rubicante all shuffle in.)
FIENDS: Yo.
EvTR: I guess you don't have to book a boss, Maya!
MAYA: Yeah, this is becoming a bit of a trend lately.
EvTR: Hey, did you ever call back that guy from
last week?
MAYA: Oops, not yet. He probably won't be happy with me when I do!
GOLBEZ: HEY, less chatting, more of my fiends beating up your heroes. >:O

Ah yes, I was waiting to bust out this gem. And since nothing else immediately came to mind, here they are; the Four Fiends of the Elementals.
First off, we have Scarmiglione of the Earth. His spells are all Earth-based, and include some notable Earth-skills from Pokemon and some of his own too. Be wary of Scarmiglione, because not only is he lord of Earth, but he also thinks he should be called Scarmiglione of Poison, so he has a couple skills to inflict that status change. Bring along an Assistant and a White Mage for sure, but don't let this scare you out of offense. As far as stats go, Scarmiglione has the second-lowest HP, but second-highest Def/MDef. Besides that, his MAtk is meager but his Atk is quite high, so look out. He has the second highest speed also. He absorbs Earth-spells, is weak to Wind spells, and resistant to Water-spells.
Secondly, Cagnazzo of Water. Obviously, his spells are all Water/Ice-based, and has all of the Blizz* and Water*. Being the heaviest of all of the Fiends, he has the highest defense but the lowest speed. He also has the lowest Atk/MAtk of the fiends, but will probably be the hardiest. His Blizz* spells have a low chance to Freeze and his ability to summon Shiva goes off at [100%] accuracy, so you won't get any leeway there. He absorbs Water/Ice spells, is weak to Earth-spells, and is resistant to Fire-spells.
Next is Barbariccia of Wind. This stormy lady is totally Wind-based, and is by far the fastest Elemental Fiend and has the second highest MAtk, as well as the highest Evade. Make sure you have a few [100%] attacks, because as far as your recent track record with attacks connecting goes, 20 Evd isn't your best friend. :O She has Aero* spells, a Whirlwind reaction spell that can deflect spells when she's critical, and Wind Heart, a skill that gives her Def Up and MDef Up to cover for her abysmal defensive stats. Barbariccia absorbs Wind-spells, is weak to Fire-spells, and resistant to Earth-spells.
Finally we have Rubicante of Fire, the offensive powerhouse of the group. He has the highest MAtk stat, meaning his Fire skills go off with quite a bit of punch behind them. He also has the highest HP, but second-lowest defense stats as well as second slowest. He has the real power in the group, with all the Fir* spells, Will-o-Wisp (an attack that deals no damage but may burn, a la Pokemon), and Glare, a skill which deals massive, defense-ignoring damage to the party (similar to Ultima). Rubicante absorbs Fire-spells, is weak to Water/Ice-spells, and is resistant to Wind spells.
You may ask why these elemental strengths and weaknesses are important. Well, here's the REALLY fun part: Upon joining battle, every hero gains an alignment to an element (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water(for all practical purposes, during this battle, Ice and Water spells are the same.)).
Let's say that Jimmy here, a Fleur, joins the battle, and gains a Water affinity. This means that EVERY Fleur skill will go off as Water-based, which would work nicely on say, Rubicante. But there is, just like with everything, an exception to this: if a skill used already has an elemental base (Firaga, Blizzaga etc), then they retain that base. Jimmy's Firaga wouldn't become Water-based; since it was originally Fire, it'll stay that way.
Along with these elemental strengths come elemental weaknesses. For your convenience, I'll post them here (for you really observant ones, they're the same absorb/weak/resist as the elemental fiends):
[07:14:16] <@Evvie> Absorb | Weak | Resist
[07:14:18] <@Evvie> ------------------------------
[07:14:20] <@Evvie> Earth: Earth | Wind | Water
[07:14:26] <@Evvie> Water: Water | Earth | Fire
[07:14:29] <@Evvie> Wind: Wind | Fire | Earth
[07:14:31] <@Evvie> Fire: Fire | Water | Wind
This means this whole battle, you have to be conscious of your elemental strengths and weaknesses when attacking. A diversified team is best, but really it's all just luck of the draw. Just be observant and you should be fine.
Also, not that it's important to the battle, but if anyone's planning on playing Musician, I'll be looping Hyadain - Four Fiends of the Elemental. That song's about a 9 on my scale. :O

In other news, the Summoner class is finished and ready for play. This class will especially come in handy since it has a myriad of elemental summons to use...but since at least one enemy absorbs a lot of them, maybe you should be careful when casting. At any rate, it's ready.
Also, MP Up now gives you 40 MP instead of 25.
EDIT: By the way, there'll be no MM tonight to help you with healing. Just thought you should know.
