I've been reading Jonathan Stroud's (Bartimaeus Trilogy) first novel Buried Fire. I suspect that Stroud has an issue with extremely slow starts. Thus far, I've found the first two-thirds of most his books I've read (except Ptolemy's Gate) to be somewhat slow in pace and a bit difficult to get through, however, once you get past the two-thirds mark ( Read more... )
