So Bin Laden should just be excused for killing 3000 Americans on our soil, right? We shouldn't do anything about it. We should just leave the terrorists alone, let them laugh at us, and foolishly believe that if we leave them alone, they'll leave us alone. Right.

Staying in Iraq and fighting an unending war against an IDEA (terrorism) is exactly what Bin Laden wants us to do, because it'll bankrupt the country. He said as much in one of his videos, and it seems to be working! 6 years after 9/11 and he's still out there, meanwhile it's been proven that Iraq and Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with "killing 3000 Americans on our soil".
The problem with fighting "terrorists" is that we don't really know who they are. The problem with fighting "terrorism" is that it's a war against an intangible. You can't lock up or kill an idea, and we will eventually run out of money trying.
If you have a better plan, I'd love to hear it.
