I like your explanation, as it resonates with my own attitude toward the function of astrology in general. Though I do think it's possible for people to refine their interpretive talents and intuition enough to be able to pinpoint certain events, I think sometimes that some miss the deeper point of what those events and the energy associated with them (and the opportunities for success or failure they open up) have to say about a person. It's one of the main reasons I get irked whenever anyone pooh-poohs astrology as smacking of predestination and/or being "inaccurate" and too generalized.
Resonates with me. As I just said in astrology, when it comes to specific events and trying to pin-point them, I believe that the Universe works in that the moment we believe we have something figured out, the moment it will cease to be true. In other words: Astrology will never -- and was never meant to -- be a science. Like you say, these symbolic events are relation to our personal journey.
