Sloth was Trisha Elric, but yet she wasn't because she have no memories of actually being Trisha. Ed and Al were her sons when she was human, but she isn't human now. There, they're her sons, yet they weren't. Plus there's the whole complication that her sons were the ones who made Sloth, which means they're her creators and, in a warped way, Sloth's fathers

It sounds confusing, but it isn't.
