I am swept away - this is such a gripping story and I love the way you have written Arwen - she emerges from the boring elvish scenes in the film as a brave woman in her own right. As for Boromir - come to mama - I'll kiss you better. Loving this writing of Boromir's character - a sadly damaged man bound by suffering and honour.

Many thx - great Sunday treat.

Arwen honestly hasn't been given many moments to shine - there's just her first scene in Fellowship, and that's PJ's work. It's really a pity, because there's so much potential to her character from what is shown. *_*

Thank you for commenting, lovely! I'm so happy that you like Boromir - he deserves to be loved. ♥

I must say, you're doing a great job, trying me to get to like Arwen :) I read this whole chapter without rolling my eyes and thinking 'stupid Arwen!' ;) I like a lot that she's this physical, that she touches him (and that he lets her)- that gesture held something breathtakingly intimate. My favorite linces where tho one about Boromir always looking onto the past and never the future and then his sudden realization that he can understand why Aragorn loves her. Must run to work now, but I'm very much looking forward to the next part! (And I kind of wish that there will be orcs... I want to see them fight side by side...)

Eeeeeee, I'm just so happy about every bit of this comment. I'm so happy that you like Arwen, because I love her and I want to show how it's easy for Boromir to love her as well. And I'm rolling around that you like the line about Boromir realising why Aragorn loves her, because this is, in all honesty, a really slow burn Boromir/Arwen fic, and sometimes I worry it's not slow enough. Sob.

Maybe there'll be orcs? You'll get to find out tomorrow, anyhow. 8D

This is building nicely, with an opportunity coming for both your principals to test themselves and one another and to step out of the shoes that they have borrowed.
thanks for sharing.

To borrow your metaphor, the shoes they've borrowed are helping them over this rocky path, but eventually it'll become a crutch and they'll both have to abandon those borrowed shoes. 8D I'm really happy to hear that you're enjoying this, lovely, and I hope you enjoy the next part when I put it up tomorrow! ♥

Yes, it's excellent work. Everything from the characterizations to their words ring true. It's rare to read a fic where there's a true, beyond-the-surface relationship between Arwen and Boromir, so this is a real treat.

Lots to look forward to: Arwen 'training' in combat with the other women, weapons-making, and the ongoing Ar/B. I wonder how long it'll take her to crack him.

Honestly, this fic is probably born from the fact that there aren't a lot of fics with Arwen and Boromir interacting and I would love to read their relationship. So I wrote it for myself, really. >_> Thank you so much for commenting, lovely, and I'm so glad you're enjoying it.

(Well, about the bits you're looking forward to... all I can say is that there's just one more day to wait. :3)
