Yarg. Stupid damn period. -.-

Anyway, if anyone has, like, no squick factor, I was wondering if you could tell me whether I should seek medical advice? Because, the thing is, I always get cramps, and sometimes they're even worse than normal, ( like today. (Cut for squick, and spoiler-spaced at the end, too, so you don't have to see it if you want to comment.) )

ew, life

That's really not such an icky part, but I know some people are well, scared quicly, so it could be icky for some people. But yeah, honestly, hun, I have no idea what that could be and I think you should really seek medical advice for it. It might not even be related all to your period, I don't know, I'm not a doctor, but yeah, this just sounds awful and I can't even begin to imagine what you felt like.

Really, the wisest thing to do is call the doctor asap, because things like this shouldn't really be happening and I don't think there's an easier way to get about this. And someone might have ideas, but still, going to the doctor really is the wise thing to do and I hope you go and do that *hugs*

Exactly those things have happened to me with my period (though not every time, they happen at least once or twice a year). When I asked my doctor, she said the faintness, graying-out, and tingling resulted from the mild anemia and water retention that come with heavy periods. The sweating and feeling of weakness can be a hypoglycemic reaction--I don't know if you've ever had one before, but my dietary needs and metabolism are usually different around my period and I get more of them then--and if that's the case, you can take care of them with six ounces of juice or two teaspoons of white sugar. The weird spacy shaky feeling will continue for a half hour or so afterward.

Sounds about like what would happen to me before I'd started taking the pill. I scared the crap out of my English teacher once. I think she thought I was dying. I dunno, pixie. I have the feeling that if you do go to the doc they'll probably just put you on birth control without really investigating too much (but, I've become rather hostile towards the medical community in general. even before Matthew.). If nothing else, they could do bloodwork to see how anemic you are and such. From what I remember, you're not exactly the poster child for healthy diets.

Also? I need a damn haircut. ^.^; This is absolutely insane; my hair keeps falling in my face, and even the part won't behave the way I want it to.

I think that xoverau can recommend a good barber....
