My Favorite Games Ever

Apr 18, 2008 10:08

A thread on Otakubooty was asking what your favorite 10 games were, with 3 honorable mentions. You don’t really ask game designers what their favorite games are, just like you don’t ask film school kids what their favorite moves are. But if I had to start with some, I’d start with these.

Herzog Zwei
Shadowrun for the Genesis
Fallout
Bioforge
River ( Read more... )

You know, you're the only other person who's ever mentioned Bloody Roar, much less actually liked it. I thought it was a fantastic game at a time when everything was trying to be like street fighter or mortal kombat.

Seriously, it's still conceptually my favorite fighting game ever. I'm not really a huge fighting game person, either, and that's probably why.

I know it's furry-tastic but the sort of extremity of things like how far you flew back into things was really fantastic. And then the added level of complexity that you could 'deploy' at any given time with the beast mode made for some really awesome chess games.

Furry + transgender.

also HERZOG GOT A MENTION? A TOP MENTION? My Dad loves that game.

I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE SUCH A MEGADRIVE FAN.

PS: You are like my Dad, but hotter. (it isn't hard)

hahahhaha

:3

I am sort of a poser in that sense, I never had one, so if there were any megadrive games on this list then I played them with emulators.

This game warrants a rant on it's own. I literally begged my dad on hands and knees, printed out huge banners of BUY ME SIM CITY and strung them across his office, I had the nintendo power or something guide and a few things I read over and over and just drooled over the game I wanted it so bad omg.

OMG! Shadowrun! We nearly played the engine out on my Genesis the month it was on the Sega Channel! I LOVED that game. Hell, I love the table top game of it now cause I loved that game so much.

Lol. Since I've posted this I have re-downloaded a Genesis Emulator and I am playing through it right now. I forgot how repetitive it is at the beginning. But its so fun to see the way they set up the game. The random generated Missions... man, I wish a game did that now and was as interesting with it.

That was honestly my favorite part of the game. I think of it as like 'grinding stuff' in wow, it was so ahead of it's time. So crazy.

I admit to not actually playing it on the genesis myself, and played it on the emulator as well =P I also admit to never having completely beaten it but I grok'd it well enough to know it's one of my favorite games evar. =P

Which type of character do you play it through as?
