goodness gracious. i think i averaged one interview per week since i got home for the summer. but after making countless phone calls and filling out application after application, i'm finally more or less with two low-paying but still nice gigs for the summer: one at bath and body works (thanks to brit), and the other at katydid day camps (thanks ( Read more... )

two jobs? yay!!! If you have any questions at all about day camp, Alice or I can answer them, as we are 2 year veterans. What site do you think you'll be at? Don't feel too daunted! If you're going to work w/ preschool, there are two counselors for each group, and she'll put you with someone who's experienced. You'll learn mostly on the job, but it's not too difficult figuring out the routine. and the little kids ARE adorable, though even I am glad to give them back to their parents at the end of the day :)

Actually, I just emailed her to let her know that I can work the morning shift for next week. I'm thinking I'm going to put down Frying Pan Park, but I think EC Lawrence is actually closer? She hasn't responded yet, so hopefully it will all work out.

On the sheet it says that I need proof of a TB shot and CPR training and so forth...do I have to get all of that before I start on Monday, b/c she seemed awfully eager for me to start, and I don't think I can do it by then...

Kate will tell you to get the TB/CPR/First aid cert. as soon as possible, but you should be able to work without it next week.

The camps at each park run different weeks of the summer. ECL camp is only in August. Frying Pan is all summer and also has the most campers so I wouldn't be surprised if you get scheduled there at first, but be prepared for anything. I'll be at FP next week.

Hope everything works out! I'm glad Kate was able to offer you some work.

ooh, i think you're good. early move-in is the 24th, freshman move-in is the 25th... and then they have orientation... so upperclassmen move-in can't be for another couple days after that.
