I'm curious. Was the car an older car?

I can't imagine putting stickers of any kind on my car.

Umm.... Probably. I'm hopeless at knowing car models/years. It was a Toyota, either a Camry or a Corolla. I can never tell them apart.

Sometimes, it seems like people with older cars care less about them and plaster all kinds of crap on them, you know?

My first car was one I bought from my dad for $1.00 -- just to make the sale legal. I put a sticker on it from my university. It was hell to get off, and the sticky stuff was so ugly on the window. I vowed I would never do that again.

You're right about the personality part, though. I'd love to get a vanity plate for my front license plate, but it's an expense that falls into that "luxury, and also just plain silly" category. So I don't do it.

I have no stickers on my bumper, but I have Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, Coffin It Up, and a gargoyle sticker on the rear glass. But, since mine is a station wagon, there's a lot more glass than you'd have in a regular car, so they don't block me from being able to see.

They are something I enjoy reading on Other cars but I prefer not to add any to my car. There's some good ones out there! (and some really lame ones, too!)
