Yeah, I have to say casino Royale is the ONLY film left in 2006 that I'm bothering to watch that actually looks to be something really good. Bond needs a fresh coat of paint , goldeneye was a fantastic movie but the followup Tommorow never dies was kind of ho hum but not entirely offensive, its followup The world is not enough just plain sucked , it took the sillyness of the casting/storyline to hieghts not seen since the 70's bond movies. Finally and most recently we had Die another day which is like 2 films rolled into 1, the first has some neat ideas for a bond movie, such as james getting captured and tortured , the second sadly is again a campy 70's style bond movie, it had bond surfing on a wave generated by a satalite laser melting polar ice, invisible sports cars and well.. it's just flat out stupid. Still an improvement over world is not enough but dissapointing becuase it started out so well.

Here's hoping Casino Royale can break free of the mediocrity curse.
