In the grande scheme of things, I largely view friends in two categories: Best friends & people I know and get along with okay. I view the "best" as those that are closest to me, that I trust and talk with fairly often through various mediums. The latter is more of friends of the bests or just people I know and come across regularly in passing

It's also why I've stopped being a regular at the BayCon circuit. They mess with too many of my friends and make me very irked.

Most of the drama I know about is through other friends who run other conventions. The only involvement I have in said drama is to lend an ear and to be a sounding board for said friends.
Of course I was involved in a spot of BayCon drama once upon a time, and one of my friends was treated very poorly by a certain person, and I'm not quick to forgive when my friends are picked on.

it may have nothing to *do* with him, but he *instigates* the argument and then steps back to watch the chaos. true or false? there's history in this statement. i'm sorry...unless you've known him as long as i have...you only have the current...not the history.
