8:05 PM 6/12/07 · I'm just finishing up a pint of Ben & Jerry's, the flavor being that one up there in the subject line, and I'm feeling good. Also dealing with the beginning rumbles of what will not be fun in my lower abdomen.
Ben & Jerry's isn't particularly high in fiber. If you say you have absolutely NO lactose intolerant symptoms with any other dairy at all ever, then it could be the large amounts of sugar. Or caffeine. Or the combination thereof.
I'd tend to be more inclined to believe the lactose intolerant theory, tho. Most people have a mild form of it. Like, certain dairy products may cause flatulence...and you may not even realize it's the dairy doing it, and not ALL dairy products will necessarily have symptoms, but some will. Only way to find out for sure is to experiment and listen to your body carefully.
Maybe you have IBS. I can't drink milk for the reason you mentioned - but I can eat ice cream. I mean I can put milk in cereal but to drink a glass of milk....no go. The shakes we have at my 2nd job, stay in me maybe an hour and a half tops and then I have to GO.
It's a little-known fact that Ben and Jerry put laxatives in their ice cream. This is to facilitate making room for more ice cream, just in case you are too full from eating that last pint.
