Heard a rumor today that apparently LJ is going to become unavailable sometime in the near future, likely due to LJ being owned by Russia.

That's hardly fair. I get the logic, but I've got a permanent account, I don't want LJ going bye bye.

honestly I've been expecting something like this to happen since it started. permanent account only reason I'm still here after 20 freaking years, that's a lot of history to lose... :C

I hardly at all visit Livejournal anymore on account of the fact that well... a lot of us have moved onto other social media sites. So wherever you are... I might add you there.

Not sure if you're still having that Facebook problem you had years ago though.

That issue was resolved, and I'm still there... but since last we talked, I'm now the moderator of an Alien & Predator group.

Well, I don't have much intentions to join any more Alien and Predator groups. The last two movies killed the franchise for me, and I've since gone back to TMNT.

That's too bad, they were weird I'll admit but they do make for fun chatter... though that is refreshing as most seem to suggest what threw them from the fandoms was Prometheus and Covenant.

Ugh!
Yeah, this LJ account has been around the better part of 20 years, and I have a few (*snrx*) more floating around that are even older.
I've recently killed a lot of my social media, but, I couldn't give this one up.
Nostalgia, and maybe even a piece of my soul.
Now, it looks like that choice may be taken out of my hands and I think it actually HURTS.
I didn't care when the Russians bought the thing.
All my friends went full-on Paranoid Conspiracy Nut on me, but, I didn't care.
I'm just a hack cartoonist with issues, not James Bond. Let 'em look.
I waffled back and forth on killing this thing myself, but, decided to keep it as I have always liked it better than FB, twitter or any other
of the truncated social media platforms. Now, I don't want it to GO!
