B&N: not what you'd think

Since I woke up Sunday I had my time at Barnes & Noble stuck in my head. Partially because I pass by the specific one I worked at once a week, partially because I was in there last month to hookup with two old friends so we could all goto iHop and that thang came up

i think a lot of workplaces now have extended the definition of sexual harassment to include comments/behavior that makes observers uncomfortable, regardless of whether they're the object of that behavior. things seem to be relatively liberal where i work now, which i realized the first time someone made a joke about using cleavage as an enticement to get donors to up their donations. maybe it's because we're a majority-female office.

i walked into the lunchroom the other day and caught the tail end of a conversation about birth control. i jokingly said, "i think i've just heard something inappropriate." and they responded "good thing hr isn't here."
