Glad you're safe.
I don't know if it's just the trend with the internet, but I do find so many things overhyped these days. Every other weather event is an "event of the century" or "event of a lifetime" or "unsurvivable". I get that climate change is real, but constantly hyping things up like that doesn't really help people take it seriously.

To be fair though, the bomb cyclone did a TON of damage with downslope easterly winds here, so that part wasn't exaggerated. Some ppl just tried to say the winds would be widespread and they weren't.
