The monday after vacation always sucks. Stupid mondays. Stupid not vacation. Stupid Fellowship.I sooo don't want to write an essay for the UVM essay contest. Unfortunately, there's no advance notice; no preparation allowed. The year I taught, which was right after 9/11, the topic had to do with "heroes" or "heroism."

And if you win in your school, you have to go to UVM, where I think they stick you in a room with all the other winners, and you get to write an essay on demand.

Consider it practice for next year, when you'll have to write lots of essays.
