Day 4 - The Kremlin

Feb 01, 2011 21:30

Yesterday we woke up just a little bit later and wasted some time before heading down to the buffet breakfast. It's damn expensive at 720rub a piece (about $22 each at a quick guess), but we needed something substantial after missing dinner again the night before and since it was Mon's birthday yesterday, it seemed only fitting ( Read more... )

It's weird how things like milk taste different in different countries. I'm sorry to hear Mon's not well! I hope she feels all right soon!

Yeah it's just different enough to be a little too much for me when my stomach isn't quite back to normal unfortunately, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Mon is still not too great at the moment, but we're hoping it will pass by morning.

Since I've never seen snow in person, it's quite beautiful to see all that gorgeous architecture with a layer of snow on it [or being shoveled off it, as it were].

I hope you guys end up feeling better. :)

You haven't?
I hadn't really been anywhere where it had snowed before, but I'd been up to snow mountains in Australia very briefly. It really is a beautiful sight to come out to in the morning, and very interesting to see how much work goes in to shoveling it away and making sure the streets are walkable.

Thank you, I hope we do too. :S

Aww, hope Mon feels better soon. And yay, Champagne!

I totally hear you on the dairy and bread tasting weird in other countries. Even maple syrup and soda drinks taste different round the world.

They have Sbarro's in Russia? I always thought that was a Midwest sorta thing over here. Heh. And... damn, I deleted my photo of it. I had a photo from the Dachau train station that was a giant McDonald's golden arch sign with "Welcome to Dachau" next to it. It was so wrong in so many ways.

Yeah unfortunately the taste difference is just enough to weird me out. But yeah, we don't have Sbarro's in Australia that I know of, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I don't think we'll go back there any time soon. XD
