Day 1 - Things I forgot to mention

It's about 5am and I've been up since 3:30am, not quite used to the time yet and we were so tired after dinner last night that we just went straight to bed at about 8pm. We'll try to stay up tonight though to balance it out a bit, I think we're still sleeping on Australian time.

Yeah the socks were very strange, it was in a pack with headphones, a sleep mask, earplugs and a toothbrush and toothpaste.
I think Mon is wearing hers now though. XD

I'll try to take pictures of Russian people, but they might not like that. XD

Hehe, well they haven't been too bad just yet, it's mostly just been awesome animal print jackets and boots and things, or some big fluffy coat with just stockings underneath. XD

Oooh, snow!!!! :D I still find it mega exciting. :)
Maybe the socks are to keep your feet warm if you want to take your shoes off and decide you need TWO pairs of socks to keep your feet warm? Or perhaps so you have the option of making sock puppets to entertain yourself if you get REALLY bored on the flight. :)

Haha, yep, I think that might be it. Actually I did see a woman yesterday putting on a second or maybe third pair of socks, so maybe we need as many as we can get. XD

Huh, you're the first person to make me think about the socks. Indonesian airlines always have them in their kits too, but I never thought about them (I also never used anything from their kits). Maybe it's for longhaul flights and you think you need to change your socks cause your foot feels stinky?

The falling snow does look and feel magical, doesn't it?

Haha yeah that was my thought too, but I guess the most likely reason is if you want to take your shoes off and don't have any socks, so you don't stink up the plane. XD

And yep, still not sick of snow, though some consistent temperature between inside and outside will be nice to come back to.
