Very interesting to see things from Al's perspective! How it is hard to separate memory from imagination. ^^

This was captivating. Very harsh on the trio, well not just on them, but - Elysia! *hugs the little one*

“What are you going to tell her, Ed? That you got a telephone call from her husband after he died? Do you know how that will sound?” Winry has a point; it wouldn't be the brightest idea to bring up, especially at a funeral. :s I'm suspicious; is this gonna be another Hughes-not-really-dead piece? Wouldn't mind at all. ^^

I wonder what Bradley is planning, singling Al out. Someone needs to skewer that man on his own sword. :@

Al's perspective is difficult for me - I find him hard to write. *laugh* I'm very glad that you liked how I wrote him.

No, this is not another Hughes-is-not-really-dead pieces. Sorry. He really died. *pouts* He sometimes does that on me, the brat.

As for why Bradley singled him out...heee...if you're current in the manga, you might have a clue.

Darn, really dead... Give the ones left behind a hug then. ^^

if you're current in the manga, you might have a clue. I am, but the majority of the chapters, I've raced through to catch up without much depth. So...*thinks* you mean because is a precious sacrifice, or because he can be used as hostage too? ^^;

I would but they're not speaking to me right now.

Um...no....re-read Roy's conversation with Bradley re: Hughes' funeral. *grin*

Oh, so beautifully sad. Just when we think you can't torture these boys anymore.

HEEE. And look, extra added bonus of torturing Winry, too!

The 3 really are connected to the soul. When they suffer, she suffers.

Yup.

(has that in mind for a story, one of these days)

Poor Hughes! Poor Ed! Poor Al!

I really like how this was told from Al's perspective, and his mistaking of the Fuhrer's intentions. Lovely.

You are too good at emotionally torturing everybody.

Ooh, very sad. Poor everyone. I love that Ed had a visceral reaction. (I have the same problem). Much love for the line "Alphonse felt something run through him at the sight of his brother, standing so straight"

I've been poking at this story bit off and on for a couple of months or longer and finally got to the last few paragraphs the other day. I'm happy with the way it turned out for the most part. *grin*
