So, my cousin does our taxes for us, and she called me the other day to let me know I'd be getting around $300 back from state and fed taxes. I was pleased, because my fence in the back yard (the dog yard) is starting to literally fall apart. I figured, I'd use that money to buy new panels for it, and yay, all would be good, once I found someone ( Read more... )

Oh jeez, here we go again with the job hunt. There's no such thing as a permanent job anymore, apparently. One month isn't much time, either. Back to the temp agency, or are you going it alone?

State income tax sucks. Florida somehow manages to stumble along without one, for which I'm deeply grateful. You need to blow Evansville and come home (yeah, like you didn't know that).

What earthly excuse is there for closing a civic building for a religious holiday?

I'll do whatever I have to to get a job. I'm still in the running (according to the website) for the interview I did, but I'd still rather work for Mead Johnson (and have really good income and benefits and three weeks paid vacation within my first two years and stuff).

State income tax sucks. So does how much I have to pay for my tags here. I dropped my jaw the first year I had to, because it's over 4 times what I was paying in FL.

I wish there'd been someone around I could've asked, but you know, Bible Belt and this is the state that filed a law to be able to be nasty to LGBT, etc.

Yes. Desperately want to get back to Florida. But I need money to be able to do that, too. What a great little catch 22 I'm in here.

I hope a new, QUALITY job shows up quickly.

That sucks about the taxes.

Me, too. I'm ready for a good job here.

Yeah. I know it's not my cousin's fault, she didn't have all the info in front of her, but it was a pretty harsh blow. Guess that "don't count your chickens" thing is pretty much true.

well that sucks and I still dont' see how you owe. I make significantly more and I get money back. That remains a mystery to me.
