DSH reviews (very long post).

Mar 23, 2008 11:09

I went in with tidesong and jettcat on an order of three DSH sampler packs, so with the order having arrived to me yesterday, I've made myself positively ill sniffing things. There are so many imps that I'm going to break up these reviews into two posts! Here's the first.

DSH goodness, part 1: )

having read the second post first, i was thinking that DSH was turning out absolute drivel. but i'm intrigued by some of these reviews (coughhoneycough) so i may give some a go. i have some of her 'colour' scents and while they were okay, i think i would much prefer the oil based perfumes she is known for.

And to be fair, I was really, really tired of perfume by the time I reviewed the second set of imps and wrote that second post. So I was perhaps a bit...hmmm...brusque with them? That, and it seemed like I was getting an awful lot of scents that were bergamot-rose-musk in the second round, so I was running out of things to say. "Oh, look! More bergamot! And rose, imagine that!" :P

yeah i did notice a lot of the same themes running through most of the notes. but it's understandable; when i look at my own collection it's sweet, spicy, or gasp...sweet AND spicy!

Yeah, I do tend to stick with the same, or similar notes. I'm afraid to try new things sometimes. :)

Ooh, I can't wait to try the honey. That's one of my favorite notes to put on my skin. St. Valentine, I'm hoping won't turn to Play-Doh on my skin. Or maybe I do, because I don't want ANY MORE PERFUMES I WANT TO KEEP BUYING! Though, I have a feeling I'm going to fall for the Khyphi and Cardamom in a bad way.

I ADORE Lush Honey! I have a wee bottle of it. Is funny too, as I was wearing it last week and wondering how it compared with BPAL's Honey note which I've never tried. Having read your comparison, now I'm not so curious! DSH Sweet Honey is also incredibly awesome.

Bois du Chocolat is also a favorite. I prefer it over Fleurs du Chocolat too.

I havent tried Ancient Air Accord but i will very soon(that and celestial smoke and catherale.).....guess I want these to age a bit...

I find myself loving Creamy Chocolate more than bois du chocolat...her chocolate note is so yummy!
