Blooddrop Linen & Chamber Sprays
Potiron - pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin, buttered apple, vanilla, dried grapes, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and allspice
Mostly pumpkin & granny smith apple, with touches of vanilla & spices. I really like this scent, but the pumpkin note is just a bit too squashy for my tastes (it's similar to the one used in BPAL's Jack and the Pumpkin Patch scents). I only like sweet baked pumpkin notes (as in pumpkin pie). However, after about two hours drying time, the pumpkin note morphs into one of the loveliest pumpkin pie like notes I've smelled (also the apples fades and the vanilla strengthens). I'm not sure I'm willing to wait that long for it to change though
La Ruche Noir - blackberries, honey, black tea and vanilla infusion
Blackberries (perfect note.... not too sweet, not too tart), honey (honey is a very iffy note for me, but I love this one), vanilla, aaand.... I could swear I smell anise and just a touch of mint, but it must be the black tea playing tricks on my nose. After maybe a 1/2 hr of drying time, my imaginary mint note is just slightly stronger...... I do love this scent, but the slight minty edge throws me off a bit
Midori No Tsuki - green tea, agave, litsea cubeba, and quince
green tea, lemon, & quince (I thought I was imagining the lemon until I looked up litsea cubeba.... apparently it's oil smells lemony). It's nice, but it's too tart for me
Blooddrop Perfumes
Cat - vanillaed sandalwood, cream, espresso, soft fur against skin, cinnamon leaf and the gentle scent of a fireplace
I'm not gonna lie.... I'm completely disappointed. I had hoped for vanilla, cream, & espresso, but I only smell those momentarily when I first apply. As it dries, it morphs very quickly into a smoky, musky scent (fur & skin I assume)
Happy Halloween - pumpkin cupcakes with white chocolate buttercream frosting
I may be crazy, but In the decant, this smells like dark chocolate liquor. I'm not liking it (too boozy and not sweet enough). Wet on skin however, things begin to change for the better.... slightly spicy, sweet pumpkin cupcakes with dark chocolate frosting (yes I know.... it's supposed to be white chocolate frosting, but I know what white chocolate smells like and I could swear this isn't it). As it dries, the chocolate note lightens and sweetens some (as does the whole scent really)
Hearing Voices - sugar frosted limes, coconut, white ginger, vanilla cake, a shot of cognac and a few pink jasmine blossoms
In the decant this is SUGARED LIMES and ginger. Wet on Skin, it's still mostly sugared limes with a little ginger, but now it has a slightly boozy edge from the cognac. This is a very strong scent. It takes about a half an hour, but I can finally smell some vanilla cake & a little jasmine. Still.... mostly sugared limes
Moving Objects - you find what was your once a warm desert of crème brulee in the garage and the after dinner liquor snifters in the dry attic!
Far from what I was expecting... I smell anise (perhaps a licorice flavored liquor?). I would love it know if this is what Astrid intended, or if my nose is in fact, broken. This isn't a POW! in your face licorice.... this note is soft and sweet. There is a slight alcoholic edge to this, but it's not really boozy. I can definitely smell the creme brulee as well. I actually like this better than I thought I would from reading the description
Things That Go, "Bump!" in the Night - the only way to sooth frazzled nerves is with an espresso and a shot of something good and strong
Espresso.... dark and unsweetened + a little booze. I like it, but the coffee note is just too dark for me
Conjure Oils
Calavera de Azucar 2010 - spun sugar floss, royal icing and meringue powder, metaphysical musk and copal incense
At first, this is tart lemon & cake. After a few moments, it becomes sweet lemon with just a little tartness, musk, a little cotton candy, & a hint of icing. There's more lemon in this than I was hoping for
Sweet Death 2010 - an orgasmic Ménage à trois of dark chocolate, milk chocolate and cocoa absolute merging with three vanillas, balsam peru, osmanthus and sexy musk
I'm not gonna sugar coat it….. this is just funky smelling. Milk Chocolate, Cocoa, vanilla, aaaand quite a lot of Osmanthus. If the Osmanthus went away, this would probably be ok. As it is though, it's an odd combination and I don't think it works at all
Succubus - african violet, sugar soaked vanilla, benzoin, coconut milk, triple cream, Egyptian sandalwood musk and red currant
Sugared violet is by far the strongest note, followed by vanilla, with hints of cream and red currant. After a few minutes, the red currant comes forward and there's just a hint of benzion creeping in. After about one hour on my skin, the strongest notes are cream (very similar to the note in BPAL's Ichabod Crane) & vanilla, followed by violet, sandalwood, red currant, & benzoin. If I liked violet, I have no doubt that I would loooove this scent. I don't however, so I was hoping it'd be a background note
Satanel - devil's food cake, coffee liqueur, buttered rum and gooey cream cheese frosting with a sprinkling of cinnamon imperials
coffee liqueur (a little boozy, but not overly so), chocolate cake, a hint of frosting, and a considerable amount of cinnamon. If it weren't for the cinnamon, this would be an awesome scent. Unfortunately though, I don't really like spices unless they are very subtle. That being said..... after about one hour, the cinnamon fades almost completely and the frosting gets stronger. At that point, I absolutely love this blend. However, I don't know that I'm willing to wait an hour for it to change
Oshun - tahitian vanilla honey is drizzled slowly over spiced pumpkins filled with brown sugar and fresh orange slices
sweet (but not sugared) orange, honey, pumpkin (not the buttery/squashy kind), light spices, vanilla, aaaand…. I could SWEAR I smell orange blossom. After about a 1/2 hr, this becomes honey, vanilla, orange blossom, & fresh oranges, with a little pumpkin, and very light spices. This is a very interesting scent. I do love it, but I'm not sure it's something I would wear. It'd definitely make an awesome room spray though (so awesome in fact, that I might just buy a bottle and make my own room spray from it)
Tempus Fugit Torte - vanilla cake, butter cream frosting, melting ice cream and funeral incense
At first, this is cake, buttercream, & floral incense. But after just a few minutes on my skin, the floral incense takes over. I now smell only hints of cake & buttercream. After about 1/2 hr, there's quite a lot of vanilla ice cream, but incense is still the strongest note. I was hoping the incense would be almost nonexistent, so this isn't for me
I Smell Good (scents made by The Soapbox Co)
I'm pretty impressed with this brand. I wasn't expecting much from it since it's a 'store brand' but someone sent me a sniffy of Cake and I fell in love. Now I wanna try them all.....
Apple
I don't even like apple, but this almost won me over. I actually smell two different notes here... the tart skin and the sweet flesh. I like this better than any other apple note (from anywhere, in anything) that I've ever smelled
Cake
Simple, but awesome. Smells like yellow cake with buttercream frosting..... and I believe there's some milk chocolate shavings on top too
Orange
very fresh orange.... too tart for me
Vanilla
Not anywhere near as dark or heavy as BPAL's Vanilla Bean SN. This is a light vanilla. Nice (and doesn't turn to plastic), but not rich or sweet enough for me (to give you some idea, my favorite vanilla is Arcana's Rich Vanilla LN)
Solstice Scents
Cocoa Mallow - rich dark chocolate and fresh sweet marshmallows
Exactly as described. I'm not entirely sure why I decided to try this, because I don't really like marshmallow. I do love the chocolate note that's in this though
Lace Draped Specre - madagascar vanilla, baby's breath, pink carnation and a hint of green pepper essential oil
Carnation with baby's breath and vanilla. I don't wear florals, but I do love the carnation note in this. It's not harsh like I think a lot of carnation notes are. It's.... well, it's pink! I won't wear this as a perfume because of the florals, but I would love it as a room spray
Pumpkin Spice Latte - coffee essential and fragrance oils, sweet pumpkin, gingerbread whipped cream, cinnamon and a drop of nutmeg essential oil
This doesn't remind me of BPAL's Pumpkin Latte - deep, rich coffee (darker and stronger than the note in BPAL's), whipped cream, spice, and a little pumpkin. The spice notes here are far different than the ones in BPAL's…. they're darker and earthier. Also, BPAL's version contained a lot more pumpkin
Spellbound Woods - vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and cedarwood
All notes are present and the overall effect is very soft and pretty. The vanilla isn't a foody one, but it adds just the right amount of sweetness to the scent. In just a few moments though, amber does what it usually does on me…. it's turning to play-do :(
Conjure - non-foody slightly incensey vanilla, golden amber and fresh cut cedar with a faint wisp of cauldron smoke, allspice EO, Sandalwood EO, Rose EO, Rosewood EO and clove EO and a pinch of champa flowers
Smoke, incense, cedar, & champaca with just a touch of sweetness from the vanilla. After a few moments on my skin, the sandalwood & clove appear, but I never really get the allspice, and I get absolutely no rose or rosewood. This is a rich, heavy, resinous scent…. not my sort of thing at all
Jack & The Devil - A blend of sweet Vanilla Absolute, dried brown Tobacco Leaf (absolute), green and delightful Oakmoss Absolute, Warm Amber, 2 different kinds of Patchouli Essential Oil, Sugared Golden Pumpkin and subtle Spices
Vanilla absolute (non-foody), pipe tobacco, amber (not turning to play-do, wow!), spice, a little candied pumpkin, and a surprisingly subtle patchouli. I'm soooo happy I don't smell the oakmoss. This is a resinous scent, but the vanilla softens it down quite a lot. I think this is my favorite of the lot, but I'd prefer to have it as a room spray rather than a personal scent
Fright Night - Sweet candy corn, chocolate candy wrappers, melty gooey marshmallows, sticky caramels, black jelly beans and more
In the vial this is black licorice, milk chocolate, & marshmallow. Wet on skin, it's aaaallll black licorice. As it dries though, that quickly changes. Milk chocolate becomes the strongest note, followed by marshmallow and black licorice. After a few minutes, I smell a little candy corn & caramel as well. After about a 1/2 hr, marshmallow overtakes chocolate to become the strongest note, aaaaand…. I could swear I smell a hint of apple. As I said above in my Cocoa Mallow review, marshmallow isn't usually the greatest note for me, and this is no exception
Harvest Moon - apple, spices, pumpkin, squash and buttery roasted chestnuts
Apple (I actually like this apple note… it's tart but still sweet, and crisp), pumpkin, buttery nuts, and…. I could SWEAR I smell sugar and a little caramel in this. In any event, it's very sweet. It reminds me of a combination of Creepy & Jack. Unfortunately, I dislike both of those scents, sooo…. yeah
