The respirator hissed, and Vader felt his lungs expanding. He could barely breathe on his own; the respirator provided him with life. If something happened to it, if some sort of complication interrupted the generator that powered the respirator, he could die.
Some times, when he thought back to his past, and the man he used to be, and who he had become, he thought that perhaps a technical difficulty might not be such a bad thing.
