I sincerely apologize for being late in replying to all your journal entries sweetie, but most especially this one. : ( *huge, huge hugs & endless love* ♥ I just signed it and I hope with all my heart that the petition will help preserve 35mm film forever. *crosses fingers very tightly & sends lots of positive & good luck vibes* ♥
"Cinema is history, and one of the most important arts that man has created. Please consider the cultural significance of 35mm film, and don't take it away from the cinephiles to whom it means so much. "
A huge Texas-sized amen to that! I have this DVD called Beatles Around the World that Bud found at the flea market once. It's my all-time favorite concert DVD and the major reason for that besides loving the Beatles and the fact that they played a lot of my favorites is because the majority of the film footage is 16mm. No need to apologize at all! I can't thank you enough for taking the time to check this out and sign the petition! Thank you thank you thank you! ♥ It's so important to me and I have been very upset about it since I heard the news... I know it's kind of silly. They stated that on the back cover of the DVD in an apologetic way, and I was thinking "Are y'all crazy?! That makes this film even better!" Exactly!! I don't know why anyone would apologize for that either. I completely agree with you, digital versions just don't have the same warmth and quality. They're cold and have no soul - it doesn't look real, you know. Also, when I go to the movie theater, I prefer knowing there's a film running through those wonderful inventions
