Lo these many years ago, I did a raceswap of Firefly, which happened to include Jamie Chung as Kaylee. Since Sucker Punch happened, she's been on my Tumblr dash a lot, which reminded me that I really need to update/revise this whole picspam. Several hours of Googling later, here we are!

I actually genderswapped Book pretty casually, but the more I think about it, the more I wish it had happened. In show!Book is cool, but a lady Book would have this whole narrative about women in the military and allegiances and religion and ughhhh, why do I wish for all these things I can't haaaave.

Mal and Kaylee are actually the only cast members I hung on to from my original raceswap. I've never actually seen Andy Lau in anything, but he looks like Mal. And Jamie Chung is just made of sweet.

The Asian-less Asian world of Firefly is one of its biggest issues. When I originally raceswapped the show, I just cast Asian actors for everyone, but I decided to get creative and play around with the themes/backgrounds this time around.
