Where did this black/gray/colored bar come from?!

Jul 11, 2006 22:19

As we have already had two posts made about this in the last couple hours, we don't want the community flooded with questions about this.

The bar you're seeing at the top of pages is the navigation strip.

Yes, LJ has defaulted it to "on". Please see this entry for more information.

Yes, you can turn it off. Check LJ's FAQs, or our sidebar, for ( Read more... )

Definitely! I know this is a terrible excuse, but I just had no idea what it was called.

That page has been there for quite some time. But as it stands, it's actually missing good things (link to birthday page, link to comments page, link to S1 custom style pages...).

As to not make an entire new post, and seeing as you did mention it .. you by chance don't know where to go to get Birthday Reminders sent to you do you? I know at one point it was under the Customize Page (or was it the Profile Page?). It wasn't until recently that I decided I did want reminders sent to me. But when I went to go look for it, I couldn't find it. I've done FAQ searches by typing in "Birthday", but I get unrelated help. So I thought I'd ask here, seeing as it didn't seem like that big of an issue to make an entire post about it.

You could maybe edit this post and add a link to this one: http://community.livejournal.com/no_lj_ads/21475.html

I have been using stylish with that script for ages and didn't even notice that they had turned the nav stip on on my journal

Forget it, I didn't know that that already is in the sidebar post

Actually, I linked to that one when I added the nav strip question to the FAQs in the sidebar. Hence reminding people that they should be checking there anyhow. :)
