[Now that she is aware that she has a 'job', April has decided to get off her ass and actually go to it instead of stalking phone calls and will now be more inclined to sit outside rather than just taking a walk and heading straight back home. People will find her at any of these locations, where she'll be sitting on her ass as usual ( Read more... )

[Alice had actually chosen the park as a place to practice her karate. For the most part it was usually quiet there, and shorty of the school gym, it was probably the best open place for it.

She arrived at the park wearing the pajamas that she'd stolen from her drone!husband since their the closest things to what she should be practicing in. She's surprised the see someone else there who wasn't a drone.]

Oh, hey.

[April stopped her leaf fiddling at the sound of someone speaking to her and looked up, blinking when she saw that the person wasn't a drone...and was wearing pajamas.]

Ah, hi. Didn't think I'd see any not drones here...

...W-Why are you wearing pajamas?

[And suddenly she's a bit embarrassed about the PJs.]

Karate. I was going to practice.

Karate...? [There's a small moment of silence as April tries to remember what that is.]

Ah, that's a style of fighting right?...A-And you can still practice if you want, I swear I won't get in the way!

[Suddenly! A baseball! While you're so invested in that leaf, it comes flying down out of the sky and heads right for you!

Luckily it only lands right next to you, but it's a close call. Then, from somewhere down in the park, past the trees:]

Head's up!

[April blinked in surprise when the baseball landed right next to her, having been rather involved in leaf fiddling. She picks it up and awkwardly gets to her feet, using the tree as support for the time being before shouting back, sounding amused:]

It didn't hit me, it just missed!

[And just as quick at the ball was hit, Scout runs up. He's a really fast little bugger. He looks surprised to hear someone at first, but when he sees it's a girl, he breaks out into a grin.]

Hey! Nice catch, lady.

Ah, I-I didn't catch it, it just landed next to me.

[She holds out the ball to give back to him. Hrm, he sounds kinda familier...]

...What were you doing?

[ There is a Jolt, catching sight of her from across the park before walking over. He knows that look- he had the same reaction upon seeing trees for the first time too. ]

You must be really new here.

[You can't blame her, all the trees back home are dead and bare and these are alive and greeeen~. Anyway, she blinks and looks up at Jolt before giving a friendly/awkward smile.]

Uh, yeah, just got here about a week or so ago...

...I-It's just that this is the first time I've actually seen trees like this in person, instead of just looking at pictures of them.

[Looks back up at the tree...hm, his voice sounded kinda familier...]

Trust me, I know the feeling. We didn't have trees at all where I came from. [ he gives the tree trunk an affectionate pat ]

... You sound familiar.

No trees at all?...They weren't needed at where you're from then?

...You do too...um, d-did we speak on the phone when I first got here?

Albedo's always the deviant, 1! fractured_white August 3 2010, 06:40:35 UTC
*Albedo was Highly Unimpressed with the selection at the library, but he was still looking over the shelves out of habit and idle curiosity, a hand covered in cuts occasionally reaching up to tug a book out only to put it away with only a passing glance at the first page. When he saw the books April was holding, he raised a curious eyebrow.* Well well, I believe this is the first I've seen of books on that subject.

[Thank god, a distraction! April puts down her book about sewing and other dull, womanly things and turns her attention to Albedo, now looking less bored.]

Um, the books seem to be specific to certain genders. I can only find books about these subjects and other things stereotyped to woman, nothing else. Men would only find books stereotyped to them as well.

[And she wants to read books about technology dammit!]

*He walked over, completely ignoring her personal space to get a better look at what she was reading and not even bothering to hide the fact that both of his hands were covered in neat cuts at various stages of healing.* Only providing that which is expected of us, then? Such a dull waste befits a prison under the guise of freedom, I suppose.

[Oh god, personal bubble has been breached! Yet despite the mental flailing, she remained where she was and didn't look bothered about the breach in personal space; she also gave the cuts on his hands a curious glance before looking at another book, this one about how to be a good wife, hnnngh. This is enough to make her sound less cheerful than usual.]

Of course, it would have been too much of them to give us a choice...And I was actually kinda looking forward to this 'job'...

...I take it the selection for men isn't that great either?
