1. Poppy saw off a fox in the back garden tonight. I went to call her inside as I usually do around 11 at night and got a real start when I saw a pretty large adult fox staring back at me halfway up the garden path. They're doing a TV series of A Game of Thrones? I had no idea. I read that book aaaages ago, but that could be cool. It's definitely too complicated to squeeze into one film, so serializing it is probably a good idea.

Also, BAINES. "Human Nature"/"Family of Blood" = win.

Unfortunately HBO have only greenlit a pilot so far, but hopefully they'll pick it up for a full series. I don't know why they wouldn't, unless it turns out to be crap. Which I'm sure it won't!

I think another thing counting against it as a film is the subject matter of the book, with its rape, incest, graphic violence, backstabbing characrers and complex political powerplay - I can't really see any major studio trying to promote a fantasy film aimed primarily at adults, so HBO seems like the best home for it. Here's hoping it's good!
