To be honest, it gets worse before it gets better. Episodes seven & eight, in particular, skeeved me the hell out. The last two episodes were decent, if not groundbreaking, but it's not worth the time.
I was one of those who gave up on it after 2 episodes in. It just went too slow and seemed to only be about Echo, which I didn't really care for. And then I came back to watch the last 5 episodes because Whedon and Dushku said it would kick arse, and I have to say, it did.
You find out there's spies, characters who are dolls, the moral ambiguity of the Dollhouse, stronger character development and much more.
I recently came to terms with why I like it as a show now; it makes me root for what is seen as the 'bad guys', which doesn't happen a whole lot.
However, this could also be because I like Topher and Boyd, and the special guest in the last two episodes.
Now that DOES sound more like my cup of tea. I may just give it a go at some point over the summer and find out for myself. At the end of the day, that's the only way I'm really going to see, isn't it?

I'll be disappointed if Terminator doesn't get renewed while this has.

I've got plenty of other things to watch/read/do, I'm just curious to see if it really is worth my time from people I trust. >_>
