They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway

Sweeney Todd is ending its Broadway run this weekend and I finally got a chance to see it last night. What a unique and odd production. There was no orchestra; the actors played all the instruments. Johnny Depp might be good as Sweeney Todd, although I very much enjoyed the version done on telly over staring Ray Winstone as Sweeney Todd. He was brilliantly psychopathic...

I've never seen that version.

I'm curious about Depp & Buton doing this. Charlie and the Chocolate factory would have been a much better movie had Johnny Depp not gone too far with "weird" vibe. It was like watching Michael Jackson play Willy Wonka. So, as long as neither of them get any odd over-the-top notions, it could be very good.
