Are there any doctors around? Anyone who can help my friend? He's been coughing up blood... it's not as bad as as then, but he still doesn't look good.

He looked like he was about to die. And it didn't seem like anything was helping... I thought he was going to die...

Maybe something with magic will help? He's always been healthy before too... ( Read more... )

This rune and Riou's are two halves of a whole rune. They're...they're destined to be together. They're not meant to be used apart. But they're also destined to oppose each other, be used against each other until...until they can be combined.

Back at home, we fought on different sides of a war and, unlike Riou, I used my rune more than I should have. It's been slowly draining me. Before I arrived here I was... like this. Before. I'd been...stupid, I guess. Using half a rune to try to seal something so much more powerful.

And maybe it's really because of the runes we ended up on different sides. If I didn't have the Bright Shield rune, the probably wouldn't have made me the leader of the Dunan army...

If the rune is the cause, I don't know how much help I'll be. I'm sure I can heal the side-effects, but...

It's the rune. [Jowy looks down for a moment before he meets her eyes.] It's all right. I...accepted it a long time ago.

[Jowy's kind of used to being shouted at by people for his stupid decisions and whatever else by now, so he just drops his eyes to his lap, to the rune on his hand and waits it out. There isn't much point in explaining; Riou isn't listening and it isn't likely that Rita's going to get it.

So he's just going to sit there for a while.]

You don't fight the power of True Runes. That's why they're sealed away in the first place.
