Since we're talking about relationships in general and friendship in particular, I'll say what I've been saying in a different way. Friendships, like any good relationship, should come easy. When you meet someone and you click it should be obvious. That person will want to spend time with you, share things with you, and vice versa. Every relationship is work, but there is a point where it's just not worth it anymore. Sometimes you have to step back, or take a break, or cut ties completely. No one knows it better than us. If the friendship is real, it will still be there, and it maybe better for having the break.
So don't be the hot coals, okay? Sometimes you have to make people find warmth for themselves.
