And I don't know how to even handle that stuff from S3 - the twisting of old backstory, the slap in the face to Elle's entire character from how she was originally presented, and, well, everything else I can't even voice because it inevitably become a rant and I've ranted enough.
These characters are so rich with backstory and motivation an future potential and you can do so much with them.
I do not understand why the writers fail, :|

Exactly.
I would have been pissed no matter how she died but how they did it? Sacrificing her entire character to prop his ridiculous Sylar storyline? Backtracking on their own canon and timeline? And then Elle Bishop, badass who shot down Claire and stalker West with a cool little lightning ball... thing after being tortured, dies with a whimper?
A whimper?
Um.
No.
I can see, with a lot of character development, how Elle could be reduced to dying without much of a struggle, if she's been broken down and has given up, but like that? After pretty much obliterating what they themselves said about her mental state? The woman we saw at the end of S2 was not the girl they called in S3, and I only saw that real Elle in EQS.
Which, while I admit to a possible Elle/Claire ship bias, probably says something about how they sacrificed her, :|
I just... can you tell I can rant all day about this nonsense?

And, heh, S3 never happened for me.
At all because it just... I have no words for how much it failed all of my favorite characters and how it slaughtered its own canon which is... no.

And then they tried to shove the Sylar/Elle story down our throats and destroyed Elle's character in the process - her childhood meant nothing and her entire character was used just to prop Sylar and, ugh, I have no words for that fail.
By the end, the character didn't even feel like Elle anymore, :-(
So now I stick to fic.

I'm so glad people are getting Elle's growth through here and are seeing just how screwed-up Claire is at this point.
And the holidays are over so I'm blowing through the last few parts and I'm so glad you're still enjoying - I included the warning of both Elle/Adam and Claire/Adam from the beginning, but I also knew I scared a few people off when I finally brought that aspect in. So you'll get the next updates much more quickly then I've been getting them out over the last few months, *g*

The good news is, I'll be able to focus on writing this now that the holiday season is over and my sanity is back, ;-)
