. . . and wow. The feels, man. THE FEELZ. I had been working up to watching this movie for months. That included a few weeks in which I listened to an audiobook of Laura Hillenbrand's novel (which was poignant and beautiful and brilliantly done). Any films to do with wars that actually took place are very hard for me to sit through, and this one

Lovely review! I'm glad you enjoyed this movie so much. It was definitely beautiful and heart-wrenching!

I really appreciated all the actors too! And yeah, I'm joining you in the shallow camp. ;P I was particularly impressed with Miyavi. I had never heard of him before but his acting was amazing! I can't imagine how difficult the role must have been since I heard he actually vomited on set from the trauma of some of the scenes.

I am also impressed with Angelina Jolie. I never would have pegged her to direct this kind of film but I hope she does more of the same kind of work!

Oh, poor thing! I hadn't heard that story. Luckily, there were nice things going on as well. I had heard that, since he's a musician and constantly practices, he and a few of the other actors had random jam sessions together. :)
