A Rant, Tempered with Rage and Seasoned with Horror

Apparently, the latest insult against dead literary giants that can't defend their own works anymore is. . . revamping classics so they read like Fifty Shades of Grey.

Yeah, you read that right.

And I thought Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was infuriating. That's got NOTHING on this. I'm not sure whether to shoot myself or go on a killing spree ( Read more... )

You're so right to rage about this, I already read this before and it's truly dreadful! The best thing to do would ofcourse be ignore it and it will pass, just like the monster-mashup phase seems to have passed. (And read some of the originals ofcourse!)

What the muffin Tea? Are they serious? Wow, nowadays writers are so lazy they can't even think of creating their own characters to use and even worse... Someone is STUPID enough to publish this?!

I know of a great solution - no! Two!

We can drop a chandelier on them all or we can impale them! And then we can have tea! :D

You've got a good point. Luckily, the covers seem to leave no questions as to what the book is about, so that may eliminate the clueless, and just leave those that know what's going on, and are reading anyway.

WTF??? There are no words for expressing my rage. I think that these kind of people don't know they can write fanfictions instead of throwing mud at those masterpieces. They are just immoral.

Immoral--and also greedy. And probably egocentric, too. Who wouldn't want to be credited as a co-author with Jane Austen, after all?

Yes, I agree. I hope they won't have much success. :/
