BBC Robin Hood vs. Rango . . . Rango Wins

Jul 25, 2011 15:20

I watched the first episode of the first season of the BBC Robin Hood yesterday. I'd heard that the story was not impressive, but Richard Armitage was satisfyingly evil as Sir Guy of Gisborne. Look at it this way -- so many of their productions run circles around ours. They can let us have a win once in a while. :-)

Of course you love it. Not only is it a great movie on its own, but it also has two actors, the director, and the composer from the PotC movies. What's not to love?! It's basically Pirates of the Mohave Desert! XD (The desert mentioned WAS the Mohave, wasn't it? Can't remember. LOL.)

Haha, I know! Have you listened to the soundtrack? It's great! I love Hans Zimmer! :D
Oh and in the scene when Rango is "duelling" against Rattlesnake Jake, the music is pretty much similar to the western one in POTC3 (it's called Parlay)! It's a beautiful tribute! :D
Yes, it is the Mojave desert! :D

Not in full. I have a feeling what I'll be watching on YouTube next . . .

*facepalm* I spelled Mojave wrong--and I live in the Sonoran desert, just a little ways over! *tries to decide if failing memory or lack of sleep is at fault* LOL!

Hahaha, so I had to snicker at your estimation of the BBC Robin Hood series...I watched only the first episode and was equally horrified (I think the "woosh" wound the arrows make between scenes clinched it for me...), however I did consider slogging through it just to see a certain character...hmm.... Interesting how that works! ;P

I got several seasons from my library, just for the sake of a certain character--but after seeing the first episode, I'm not sure I have the gumption to slog through the rest. Eventually, I'll just arm myself with a remote and blaze through all the scenes worth watching. Eventually. ;)

LOL, yeah, I've contemplated blitzing through the series, but to be honest Everyone Else is just SO annoying/miscast, I'm not sure I could handle it, not even for RA. LOL!

Know what you mean. I'll give it a try, and see how long I last. :)
