Ah, I was also raised on FBOFW. I never saw the early days, when before Michael was born. I remember him as a young boy, growing up, and younger sister Lizzie, going through teenage years. And then April coming up late.

I remember when the dog died after dragging April out of a river. And when Michael and Lizzie got married and started having their own kids.

Its always struck me (as opposed to Hagar, Garfield, Calvin, etc) that there was a certain originality with this strip, how characters always developed. I presume this reflects the changes in Lynn Johnstons own life, but still.. interesting.

I love the poem. And yes, I do think 'Calvin and Hobbs' sounds like a couple of theologians. ;)

Calvin is a theologian, of course...Hobbes...probably is as well?
