On Monday my seminar of two presented our papers. My paper is something appropriately Eventhere-like. That is, it involved reading up on a Florentine family who 'made it big' in Rome because one of them became Pope, Galileo and his trials, and Church history (think Counter-Reformation, 30 years war, and the Spanish Inquisition*1). Oh yes, and an ( Read more... )

Sooo far from mocking you for reading a statistics book for fun, because a) the title involves not only tea, but a lady tasting tea, which just calls your name, b) the title implies free time reading...what prof would assign a book with a fun title for a course?, and c) it sounds like more fun than the audiology textbook that I'm reading in my spare time. I can no longer say i'm reading it for fun, because it isn't sufficiently riveting.

Muchly enjoyed your first real LJ post. It's appropriate that you're using it to procrastinate, because that's what the rest of us do. Italy may have expected the Spanish Inquisition, but we did not expect a real LJ post from you. I had to look twice.

I love you!!!

I totally got halfway through before stopping short with, "Wait. Whose entry am I reading? And this is actually a real post? Huh." Then I accepted it, and moved on. *grin*

I've been saving an lj-update until after classes were over so I could officially say that I didn't post all semester (if one is to be tardy, one might as well do it in style), but I've passed that point now, so I should get moving. Just as soon as this crazy weekend is over. *grin*

i saw faranelli. kinda weird... and im not a fan of high voices, so thats that...

and history needs hollywood for this generation. forget the argument of school being a right vs privilege, school is boring, and while 80% of highschool kids move on to post-secondary, most of them dont finish. essentially, if theyre going to learn about something, it needs to not be boring. movies are significantly less boring than textbooks.

Jackie once noted that i post way more often when im writing papers... now i realize that i most more often just cause im totally addicted to the bbc. its a serious issue! im spending 3h a day on it!

anyhoo, love you! let me know when you get the package :)
