[51] Hansel and Gretel Avenging

Right, that was a lame title.

The past few weeks have been an amazing colorful week for icons--what with inspired20in20 and theiconquest's side quest focusing on colors. It's been fun playing with colors, though trying to get shades matches just right for the IQ challenge was...well, challenging!

Thank you! I'm pretty excited for Hansel and Gretel too, so much lovely eyecandy. And Famke is fabulous.

THANK YOU! ♥♥♥ And I TOTALLY agree with shiny colors :D These were so much fun to make!

#015 -- which icon? I haven't been around so much that I don't think I've seen that yet!

#032 -- YES TOTALLY FAMKE. She is so pretty *_* I just had to icon that single cap of her in the trailer XD

For the contrast in the B&W icons, I usually try on one or two textures on the (colored) base (like #003) and then add a gradient fill adjustment layer in B&W. And then paint on contrast, black brush on a soft light layer. I sometimes do more than one layer to build it a bit more (or lower opacity if it's too much)-- for #002 I have about three layers of that (along with a soft light layer of a light color (yellow orange) on his hair to make it lighter).

Nothing really ground breaking XD

Oops, my bad, forgot to include the link! It's this icon by likealight. Both icons sorta have the same color scheme (purple background with yellow font) but the similarities stop there, lol. XD I dunno, I love that Parker icon so much, every purplish yellow icon reminds me of it, haha.

And yes, Famke is so, so gorgeous. And hot too. ♥ To this day, I still can't forgive the writers for what happened to Jean in X-Men 3. When Logan was about to kill her, I was all NO, DON'T YOU DARE. *weeps*

And thanks for the tips! I sorta play with contrast the same way too -- though I think I need to fiddle with the layer opacity more as sometimes the contrast just gets way overwhelming. :) Thanks again! ♥

Oh, that one! :D Yes, I've seen that icon :) Purple and orange/yellows always go really well together, I say. ♥

Man, X-Men went progressively worse XD I think they tried to chuck too many things from the comics into it and lost sight of things, ugh. But well, eyecandy! I have a feeling Hansel and Gretel might be the same though, mostly badass eyecandy, ala Van Helsing or something. Still, whatever makes pretty icons ♥

And no worries about the tips, I only wish it was more amazing XD I'm still learning and all ♥

And MMM STAR WARS ♥

Gorgeous icons! The first row of "The Avengers"-icons are wonderful. I especially love #01, #03 and #05.
And I also like the texture placement in #46 a lot.
