You know, I'm pissed off enough to begin with at the three babies I've heard of who have died or were seriously injured because their unfit cunts of mothers or parental "guardians," (and I'm sorry, I know "cunt" makes many twitch but this is the one place I think these bitches are worthy of the title) were too STUPID not to leave the children in ( Read more... )

I leave DJ and Zoe in the car when it's warm now and then, but only when I can open windows and then *briefly*, and not when it's very hot. For instance, I'll run into Peet's, and if there's a line, I leave. If there isn't, I order, say, "Back in a few, the dogs are in the car," and go sit with them. If there's no parking spot very near the door, I don't bother parking.

At Trader Joe's the other day, I needed milk, dog biscuits, and nothing else, so I parked, opened the windows 3" each, put up a shade cloth, and ran in. Whoops. Lines at checkout. I ran back out without shopping and came home. They did without biscuits for a night, and deyo picked up milk on his way home.

And that's when it's the kind of hot where the air outside doesn't seem that hot, but it would be too hot to spend ten minutes in a closed car. I also never leave them without ample drinking water, even for the short time I do so when it's warm, and also not when it's plenty cool for them to wait in the car for much longer if need be. (Also: I always try for shade, and will only park in the sun if I will be inside for less than a minute or two, literally, e.g long enough to order coffee. Shade makes a huge difference.)

I'm hypervigilant about their safety and health.

One reason I come sit with them as I wait for my coffee is that then I know exactly how warm a car can get on an otherwise temperate day. (I keep all the windows low, too.)

I totally understand how you feel, and use "cunt" if it feels right!
hell yeah! this kind of thing totally pisses me off, too! i can't say enough. but luckily YOU did for me! :-D

and um, GREAT GUTSY comic indeed. should have more things like this to get important msgs like this across.
