I actually love that you've posted this long after the initial frenzy of reviews, because I'm not sure I agree it's the having an opinion about Radiohead that's hard; it's resisting the clamor to express that opinion and the first-listen-okay-next climate that's turned into albums into yogurt. EXPIRING: TOMORROW. I like your assurance and your unwavering faith - I've read this several times to feel calm. aaaaah and that Filter review, so good. I get the HTTT and TKOL parallels, but for me TKOL is much more reserved. No matter how much HTTT's robot anarchy turned people off at the time, I think it still implicated an audience by virtue of directly challenging our expectations and flouting them with manic satisfaction. The back half of TKOL is so small and reticent in comparison that I feel like I am invading someone's privacy and need to flee. Hahaha I love that your best listening experiences are in the dark (which I suspect is what this album was made for - that and a specific kind of weather), because every time "Give Up the Ghost" ( ... )
