Orlando Bloom is a truly terrible actor. I would probably hate him if he weren't so genuinely cute in real life. Seriously, I watched an interview with him one time and I wanted to take him home with me so that we could like, I don't know, knit a sweater together or something.

As far the ideas you have here...so much better than the fanfic I was writing that ignored the post-credits scene because this one takes the incredible stories we already know and makes them better by cutting out Will. Maybe I should feel horrible that I can't join so many others in their new appreciation for Will following the third film but...you totally and completely justify why I feel that way. Hurrah for shared fandom bitchery! Long may Norrington reign in our hearts! Forever shall I be amused at Hector as Barbossa's first name! (Perhaps the last exclamation is random, but it's true.)
