Yeah, I know the feeling. I had a song of the week thing going for a while, but since no one commented about the music I was posting, I just gave up. Frustrating, no? Anyway, I didn't download any because I already have all of 'em. But, I would comment had I downloaded. Or didn't, as it is in this case :)
I guess we must have matching impeccable music tastes, because I always had the ones that *you* were posting. But really -- I usually request that people comment in the post, and I get multiple comments. And then the one time that I didn't specifically say, "Right-Click, Save-As, Comment," I just got zippo. Hmmm. Oh well.
Either that, or we both have similar tastes in music.
Well we seem to be along the same track, I do know for a fact that I didn't have the Sonic Youth song you posted a week or so ago...but I got distracted and forgot to download it. I'll check your journal now, I hope it's still up! I've always meant to get into Sonic Youth but have never actually investigated their music.
Oh, and as a thank you note for showing me the link for the Pixies at Coachella, I give you this treasure trove I found. Which, among other things, has Radiohead's Coachella show. :)
Registration-type-things have always frustrated me. They make something simple amazingly difficult. GRR! for you. But, oh, don't let yourself starve on Mondays or anything. That might not bode well. [Don't pull a Mary-Kate! Don't do it! *eg*]
August 29, eh? Is it getting scary yet? I'd be scared.
Re: the friends issue: Hmm. Quite a predicament, especially when lots and lots of presents are at risk. I think that if it wouldn't too hard for you [emotionally that is, of course. heh.] to get the friendship going again, and you know you'd enjoy it once you did, then you should call them up and hang out. Otherwise? Eh. Hang out with Isa and pray for Aug. 29.
This was a really random post. And I'll totally add that book to my list.
This was less of a post of needing hugs, and more of a...I want summer to be over. In a sense. I just want time to hurry up and the new part of my life to start, because I've been waiting for it for SO long
( ... )
I have no idea how, but I missed your last entry. Anyway, I just downloaded the new stuff (your taste rawks) but a couple were missing, specifically Muse and the Yeahs. Just... fyi? But thanks though! And I shall add that book to my wishlist.
Oh, thank you! And in my directory? 'Date With The Night' is 2nd on the list, and 'Ruled By Secrecy' is on there, it's just named 'Muse - Absolution - 14 - Ruled By Secrecy'. So you should be able to download them fine! I hope. :)
'Breakfast of Champions' is one of the weirdest things I've read in a long long time, and the style is definitely a new one for me, but it is AMAZING.
You could test your foot in the waters, so to speak. If you have any of their e-mail addresses, e-mail them (or e-mail the one you liked/related to the best) and ask what's going on. You haven't heard from anyone lately. No one seems to be talking anymore, etc. Don't be confrontory. Just ask. You never know: they might think YOU don't wanna talk to them anymore.
But if you weren't happy about hanging with them in the first place, would "hooking up" again be a good idea? You'd just be letting yourself in for a fall again.
You never know: they might think YOU don't wanna talk to them anymore.
I know. That's what people keep telling me. But just from how the way things have been, it doesn't seem that way to me. And I *was* happy about being friends with them in the first place; just over time, things have gotten cliquey and somehow I fell out of the loop. So to speak.
But I think you have a valid point -- I just need to ask. And right now that's the hardest thing.
Thank you SO much for the advice, it's really nice to know that people care.
::hugs back:: Yes, email seems to be a good choice, though I'm not sure how much my friend checks her email address. I'm all used to checking mine constantly from being on LJ, but not everyone's like that. ;)
I didn't comment on your music post because, um, I didn't look at it. I saw the cut tag and all, but I haven't been downloading music lately. I have, like, 500 or something songs I've gotten from my friends list and I just never listen to them. (Because of the Stupid Computer that Won't Play Music and Stay Connected to the Internet.)
Also? My high school had this thing called modular scheduling. Mostly, it was really damn cool because if you didn't have class a certain day of the cycle, you could just hang out in the commons and goof off. But sometimes you'd get slammed and there would be days where you had seven classes and no time to eat lunch. It sucked. Throughout highschool there were days when I basically lived on Snickers.
Gah! LJ ate my comment. Here was what I tried to say:
Angie, I didn't mean YOU. I just meant, the people who downloaded [because I know there were] didn't comment at all. So I have no problem with you not commenting, cos you didn't download. :) I just think people are getting lazy with commenting in general. Myself included. But with music posts or anything where someone is offering something up to the general public, it's just common courtesy, y'know?
And though I love Snickers, I fear that fate. I just need to make a nice, balanced, food-friendly Monday. Eep. *g*
