connecting with dysfunctional...

Bored.
Alone.
Disconnected.
Misunderstood.
Lonely.
Need human connection
Human contact
That gives me attention
Makes me central.
If it wasn't the time that it is,
I know what I'd be doing...

past, me, tmi!

Calling ME, what it is.

Not least because I'm feeling exactly the same way.  You could talk my ear off about any fool thing you wanted, and I'd be glad for the voice, for the company.

My phone never rings, now.  I use its alarm clock function, and I forgot to shut off the incoming-call ringer the other day and didn't even realize.  It made no difference.

I can say that for myself:  I do that.  Part of it is good manners, such as I learned long ago and seldom find nowadays

“A sincere exchange of ideas requires skillful listening. What does listening entail? It requires complete concentration. I am absorbing what you say. I am not hearing a few words and forming my response as you speak. I am listening. Then, when you have finished speaking, I consider my response. When I respond to you, respectfully, our words link our lives. This ability to listen can be honed with practice - listening to a piece of music with undivided attention, to a bird's song, to children at play, to footsteps as you walk. We must turn over our distractions in pursuit of communication. The rewards are immeasurable. Who can forget the experience of really being heard, of having someone take in your words and their meaning and hold them as their own ( ... )

No people have bothered and continue to. I can't be ungrateful and obtuse and say it isn't so. The fact remains that only dysfunctional really connects to dysfunctional. Really understands. Functional tries, functional sympathizes and even with all of its trying or maybe because of all its trying, you feel lonelier then ever...
"Why doesn't functional get my dysfunctional!?!?" becomes the next woeful cry...
