Help?

So, June is my 30th birthday. I'm hoping to have my party be the fake wedding thing I've always been talking about. The problem is I'm dirt poor. I've been trying to save up money for it for the last year but it keeps getting spent on bills and school. So I'm prostrating myself at the feet of my friends and asking for help. Well, let's see. I can probably contribute some sort of food item - not catering the whole thing but bringing a potluck dish. If there's something else you know I make that you'd like - let me know.

Yeah, I'm thinking that a potluck would be a great way to do food. I don't actually know what dishes you like to cook. Anything you're particularly fond of?

. . . a "cake party". In the olden days if you suffered a disappointment after ordering the cake, you held a party.

Why should a wonderful party, for and about you, where you don't have to argue or make consessions about the cake be silly?

Tea anyone? I can and do a lovely tea. I can serve 18 - 20 people before I am embarrassed about proper cups. It would be best if I had a little help with baking and such like but otherwise, if you want it, you can certainly have it.

I also have a large number of Thank You cards that are vauge enough to serve for any wedding presents you need to send cards in response to.

I guess I am thinking more of the bridal/birthday shower.

Who knows. Tell me if you want, need and can incorporate the idea. if not, I am like KdG. Tell me what you want and I will if I can.

Thank you hon, I'll let you know. I'm hoping that I will be able to hold it somewhere where I can invite a bit more then 20 people as I'm blessed with many friends who love me. But again, concessions will be made if they have to be.
