Yeah, Watchmen is so far above all other comic books that it's kind of frightening. I was just thinking about this -- people try to compare it to the Sandman, or to the Dark Knight Returns, but it's not even in the same ballpark.
What "foil" structure are you talking about?
I remember thinking that the most difficult part of the comic to translate would be the part where the kid is reading the comic book. How could you possibly do that effectively in cinema? The rest of it, I thought I could figure out, but that one part stumped me.
