Today I've been looking through this sewing book I picked up at Half-Priced Books last week... which I love.  It's Clotilde's Sew Smart.  (ISBN 0-9748217-0-5)  It's sort of what I think my text book should have been like for Intro to Costume Construction.  It's got a lot of really basic things like how to sew what kind of fabrics, selecting a ( Read more... )

The first outfits that go up for sale are most probably going to be some Dollshe boy-sized things. (Kilts ahoy....) But I swear there will be some period outfits coming up too. I mean, heck, I already have the basket hoop pattern worked out... I think that's the hardest part really.

Thanks for posting the ISB!! I think I may look ino grabbing a copy since I don't know any professional garment finishing methods, and what I tend to do looks VERY home made although passable.

I think it's great for being a fraction of the price of my sewing text books, and used it's about the same on Amazon as what I paid for it at Half-Price. Some of the tailoring techniques are a little hard to follow, but it's FANTASTIC, because it has tons of nice little things like various machine and hand-finished hem instructions, and they're very easy to follow. Great for my brain-fart days when I swear I think I have Alzheimer's or something.
