Watchmen is sometimes great*, sometimes good**, sometimes meh***, and sometimes pretty awful****.

But they left out my favorite scene, and for that I may never forgive them )

I agree with all of your points. Though what exactly didn't you like about Ozymandias?

I can't really pin-point it was about Ozymandias that bothered me. It was the way he looked, like they were going for the cheesy from the comic, but just couldn't commit, but still thought that shiny purple would look good on screen. The way he talked, which kept throwing me out of the movie. The way they made him seriously suspicious from the beginning. It was a lot of things, but a general aura of discontent.

This page makes me want to see the movie; I hadn't heard much about it and I'm not familiar with the comic.

Well, sadly, the awesome that is Rorschach attacking from the fridge is not included in the movie. I definitely recommend both the movie and the comic, though. The movie is an experience, and the comic is great.

Ahahah, you're right, I love that scene, because it illustrates how deeply batshit awesome Rorschach is. Also, it's the greatest "PWNED!" image I can think of.

There are lots of awesome/hilarious/crazy/disturbing things in Watchmen, but I swear, the fridge attack will always be my favorite.

I asked my friend what she thought of the movie, and all she said was "they have no problems with giant blue penis." I don't know...

You know, now I'm trying to remember if there was a "giant" blue penis. I remember regular-size blue penis, but I must have been paying attention to other things when the giant one came on screen.

I think it was because he was a giant? I have no idea what the movie is about, so I really don't know.

Yeah, Dr. Manhattan is of various sizes. I just don't remember if he went full frontal while a giant. You'd think that would be something I'd remember.

You know, it really is! Truly, much can be improved by a small, angry man hiding in your fridge, ready to strike as soon as you reach for your string cheese. Also, Rorschach is awesome at all times.

I agree- Ozymandias was the weakest part of the movie, I think, though I have trouble putting my finger on it. He just seemed kind of watered down. And I didn't feel like Dan and Laurie really had all that much chemistry.

Overall, though, I loved it.

I'm pretty much the same way. I thought it was great, but there were more moments that I didn't love than I had hoped. And most of them were between Dan and Laurie or about Ozymandias.

I got this feeling about Ozymandias every time he was on screen like Matthew Goode was thinking "My narrow face and purple jacket are coming for you, even if you're not supposed to think I'm the bad guy yet."
